Microneedling

Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy or Microchanneling, is a minimally invasive treatment that results in stimulation of new collagen, rejuvenation, tightening, and remodeling of the skin. The treatment allows for controlled production of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which trigger new collagen synthesis, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.

For a more advanced treatment, we recommend Morpheus8 RF Microneedling treatment with one of our nurses.

A skin booster is added to every treatment for advanced results and quicker downtime. Your provider will choose between either PRF, PDRN (LumEnvyTM), or PDO AfterGloTM based on your goals. Learn more about our skin boosters.

More Information

What areas can be treated?

These treatments can be used on any areas that can benefit from resurfacing. The most commonly treated areas include the face, periorbital area, neck, and chest.

How many sessions are recommended?

Your provider will recommend the optimal number of sessions to be performed based on your personal objectives. Treatment times and frequency will be specifically tailored to obtain optimal results.

How quickly will I see results?

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically 1 month for noticeable results to appear. Improvements in skin continue for 3-6 months after treatment.

Can anyone be treated?

These modalities can safely treat all skin types at any time of the year.

What is the downtime?

Treatment requires minimal downtime, so you can return to your daily routine almost immediately after your appointment. Redness and swelling may occur, depending on treatment parameters. Makeup can be applied 1-2 days. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters.

Skin Boosters will help enhance your body’s own healing response.

What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are topical serums that can be applied via collagen induction therapy, microchanneling, microinfusion, microneedling, or post laser treatments to brighten and hydrate the skin. The goal is to boost collagen, enhance the skin’s natural healing process, and retain skin moisture with vitamins and amino acids. There are many different skin boosters that can be used, including LumEnvyTM and PDO AfterGloTM.

LumEnvyTM serum is a brightening skin booster composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) (derived from salmon DNA due to its ability to promote cell proliferation and tissue regeneration), glutathione, vitamin C, and niacinamide. LumEnvyTM is used to brighten the skin, reduce dullness, and discoloration.

PDO AfterGloTM serum is a hydrating skin booster composed of polydioxanone (1,000 PDO threads in powder form) and Hyaluronic Acid (HA). PDO AfterGloTM is used to treat the appearance of moderate to severe skin texture and tone irregularities and reduce treatment downtime. PDO is an ingredient that is certified by the FDA and naturally dissolves and is absorbed by the body in 6-12 months.

If being treated by a nurse, PRF may be added to the treatment.
