More Information

What’s the difference between laser hair removal and electrology?

In laser hair removal, exposure to concentrated pulses of light destroy the hair follicles. Our Certified Laser Technicians have different lasers at their disposal to treat various hair types: Alexandrite and Nd:YAG for dark hair, and IPL for light hair. In general, laser hair removal is more effective on dark hair.

In electrolysis, a tiny probe is inserted into each hair follicle and transmits a small electrical current to destroy hair growth cells. Electrolysis is effective for all skin and hair types/colors.

Both are safe and effective means to remove unwanted hair.

How long does it take to see results?

Since hair grows in cycles, patients typically need multiple treatments. The number of treatments needed will vary per person, but all the growth phases of hair need to be treated. We recommend scheduling appointments every 4-6 weeks until all or most hair follicles in the target area are eliminated.

Most patients will see a significant reduction of hair for months or years afterwards, and any hair regrowth will typically be lighter and finer.

Does it hurt?

Many describe laser hair removal as feeling like a rubber band snapping against the skin. Any pain or discomfort will vary based on the area being treated and your individual pain tolerance, and shouldn’t linger after your appointment is complete. Our lasers also have a cooling tip to soothe the skin while it is being treated.

How much does it cost?

Your service cost will be determined by the area size, and the number of sessions will vary by individual for both laser hair removal and electrology. We offer both à la carte pricing and packages of three or six sessions, which are customized upon consultation.
